Armor Spirit WIP



I've been playing around in Max's material editor trying to get a translucent material for the spirit that is in my armor. I'm almost there. I want it to have more of a glowing effect. I also need to clean up the mesh of the spirit a little more before I take that and add it to my armor in zBrush, where I will do the final posing.

  2. I like the material is has a sort of gel effect to it. If you're going for glowing you could try self illuimation or adding a post glow that max can automatically add through the Rendering > Environment section in Max.

  3. Its cool to see someone working on materials, I think that once you get some glow in there, It will looks really nice with the texture and everything.

  4. Interesting material, if this is for the game I would recommend making the shader inside of Unreal or the engine you will be using. Unreal has a very user friendly shader system and you can get the look you are looking for pretty easily. Is the body inside unwrapped or will this be a purely max material character?

  6. I like the purple, almost gummy candy center of the body.

    I'd like to see this with your normal map applied. I know you have a high poly floating around somewhere.
