Muscle definition is coming in pretty nicely. You might want to scale up the shell of your creature's face to give it more detail and make use of all that empty UV space. This isn't uncommon to have the face more detailed than the rest of the body.
Your on the right track, are you using any real animal reference for the structure of the muscle? I think it would help if you found a similar animal and used its muscle structure to make it more believable.
I really like how your UVs are coming along. Did you make this based on the zBrush model? I'm new to this process, so one of these days, I'd like you to show me what you did.

ReplyDeleteStarting to look good with the muscles. Make sure to take advantage of as much UV space as possible as to have the crispest textures possible.
ReplyDeleteI'm saving some UV space for the spines that will eventually go on the back and tail, and some space for the teeth and eyes.

ReplyDeleteI have a copy of all the lion musculature from Lynn's book, it really helped a lot.
ReplyDeleteMuscles are looking good. UV's are laid out well. Although I swear the creature still has the, as many had described it, derp face.
