Face Layout

Still working on laying the face out edge by edge.

  1. You're making progress, which is the most important. I'm not really a character modeler, but putting lots of hours in is most important. Feel free to take a look at head modeling tutorials to see how others go about talking the issues at hand. Otherwise, it is hard to see what it looks like with the xray and edges on.

  2. This is the tutorial I have been referring too while modeling lately.

You need to keep in mind that your polys should only be 4 sided and your verts should only have 4 intersecting edges especially in the face where there would be a lot of moving geometry while animating in games.

It is mega important to use high resolution image references when doing a human body as well.

  3. There may be an easier way to create the edge flow that you're trying to accomplish.

I will post it to your Facebook wall when I get home or when I can find it.

  4. is this subD? you're doing alright but you need to watch your edge flow and the polys you are creating you have like irregular nonagons in there which really need cleanup.

  5. Make sure you have the main shape before adding detail. Once you have detail, then modify that before adding more. These edge loops look overly redundant.
