Here is the first LOD of damage for my train model. Nothing too serious. Some of the railing is been mangled, and the wheels are all bent up as if it derailed. This damage only occurs on the one side, implying perhaps it hit the side of a building or something as it derailed.
This kind of damage is great for damage that could occur in a game in any way but to make it a bit more interesting but less practical I would suggest thinking of a scenario and applying the proper damage to the model so it tells its own story. The random damage is a good technique for a game because who knows where the model is going to be struck from but I think that it might be interesting to try something less dynamic and more focused.
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty good especially for trying to damage a train. I think this particular damage model could work similar to how mine is...a full damage that could be swapped in a firery explosion.
ReplyDeleteI like it kinda looks like it melted in some spots
ReplyDeleteComing along fine. You have some really good damage applied here. My only suggestion would be to think about how/why damage is being applied to the different parts. Your train is very mechanical in design, so each part is important in a hierarchy, so there needs to be a reason behind the displacement of the different parts I think.
