I really like this so far. You have a nice overall shape. Like how the front legs pop out a bit on the back, nice underbelly, good back legs, very nice.
This could totally work. I would make his feet and head bigger. The eyes need to look meaner, and not just a circular hole. You'll just need to readjust the edge flow to conform to different shapes on the model. I have a picture of a 3d quadruped alongside your model. Notice how he rearranged his edgeflow to conform to the legs. You don't have to do exactly like I'm showing you, but be sure it makes sense.
@danny: I just built the head and haven't done much from blocking it out right now. same thing with the legs. I will be building the edge flow as you said when i get into adjusting it. Thanks for the pic though A bit more edge flow reference is always good :)
It's coming along great. I want to see other perspectives. I do think you could work on the legs and make sure it has all the places where the bone is jutting out, just to make it look more structured. For example, I can see a slight bump where the "thumb" claw would be, but I think it needs to be more pronounced.
Good start and looks like your concept. Get that head attached and let's see the high poly. Should look pretty great with a nice high poly head. Looking forward to it. No real problems I see at this point.
Looks good so far, I wonder anatomically if the tail would work though, right now it looks too big for the animal, but its coming along well, keep it up
@james: it'd probably drag the tail on the ground because of it's length, since it's head isn't far enough out to be a good counterbalance it'd be hard for for it to use. it'd probably look right at about half that length but if I shorten it too much then it will have to do one hell of a spin to attack with the tail so it's a tough call. It would probably come down to how it looks from an average persons perspective, since we are a bit more in tune to detail than average, if it were in a game would the average player think it was off enough to look weird or would it just pass them by?
no not a bad start at all, for such low poly it looks very nice, i cannot wait to see that tail animated.

ReplyDeleteLooks pretty much like the concept you drew. Cant wait to see high poly
ReplyDeleteThis is coming along fine. Are the spikes going to be pulled out from this mesh, or added in later?

ReplyDeleteGood so far. You did a great job getting the leg anatomy right. Keep at it.

ReplyDeleteEverything looks good to me. I think the tail might actually be a little TOO long, even if it's long on purpose for whipping.
ReplyDeleteShorten the tail, but it's off to a great start otherwise.
