I know that you got a late start, but even so it is looking good Dennis. Just keep adding details and before you know it you'll be ready for the high poly. It's looking good at the moment. Keep going!
Looks great so far. You've got the basic shape of the train down. Like Viking said, for rendering, you should throw a base plane as the floor.
