Bulldozer

Not much to say about this piece. This is one of the arms which will be lifting the bucket up and down. The very very beginnings of my HP mesh.
The picture above will fill as my extremely low poly proxy comming in just over 1000 polys with room for optimization. I did have some of this bulldozer finished before this class, so what I did was repurpose it to fit this project. Things i changed about this model was the scale, lifting arm, added what will soon be a tank tread and a new bucket.

  1. killdozer! but really, this bulldozer looks pretty good so far, i wouldn't mind seeing some negative space in the cab though, it looking like one solid block is a little odd.

  2. For the high poly are you going to make each part of the treads or just do one big piece? It would be cool to see them all individual just in case you want to animate it rolling around. I don't know much about bulldozers but its looking pretty good so far.

  3. Cool dozer. Where is the door? Your treads look like they aren't really tight fitting

  4. Cool looking dozer. The low poly looks good I can't wait to see the high poly. While not much is don't I don't really have any major problems I see. As far as the tracks not fitting I'll wait until I see the highpoly because I know you probably have certain textures in mind for the low poly.

  5. @Winston I will be making the treads individual but for the low poly proxy it would just be a texture. I have done trades before and am looking forward to doign it again.

@Danny It is not tight fitting yet and i actually dont know why i made it so loose ahah

  6. Lookin good. The only thing that doesn't sit well with me is the hard line that goes vertical through your window area.

Also you should add about 4000 more polys. :D

  7. looks good. though i agree It'd be nice to see the inside of the cab.

  8. Looks great! The only thing I see is the inside lines on the shovel don't seem to match. On its right side of the shovel, the inside dimensions look flat, so I would give it a little more depth and make sure the geometry on the inside and outside matches up

  9. I dont know too much about hard surface modeling but I think its coming along well. cant wait to see it more detailed.

  10. Very nice start! Some negative space would be nice, especially around the cab, and you might want to make the shovel a bit deeper (as is it looks a bit too shallow).
