The head looks good and the mesh looks pretty clean (going off what I know about character modeling). Let's see it attached to the body!
Its looking great so far, I know hes supposed to be a mayan i would suggest looking up pictures of Rudy Youngblood, hes from the movie Apocalypto, that should be useful for your model in terms of ethnic facial features.
Great edge flow! If you are modeling it after an African American then I believe the nose should be a bit wider with bigger nostrils.
